The objectives the study are: (1) to formulate an urban transport master plan for the Lahore Metropolitan Area up to the year 2030; (2) to formulate an action plan for the identified priority projects up to the year 2020; (3) and to provide assistance to strengthen the administrative capacity of the Government of the Punjab for implementing the plan, through the setup of a Transport Planning Unit (TPU) in the Transport Department;

SRDP provided the following services for this study:

Development of a comprehensive database covering Lahore City and portions of Sheikhupura and Kasur Districts featuring an updated road network database to support various analysis works for the study
Database and GIS support to the multidisciplinary team
Transfer of technical skills in GIS and CADD to counterpart personnel
